Chris Temple – Critical Minerals And The Energy Transition – So Close, And Yet So Far Away
Chris Temple, Editor and Publisher of the National Investor, joins us to share some of the key insights he took away from the Energy Transition Metals Summit in Washington D.C. last week. He outlines some of the challenges facing North America in relation to the need for #criticalminerals, but then the policy bottlenecks standing in the way of getting more mines to produce them.
It’s a wide-ranging conversation that gets into China’s dominance in manufacturing in so many areas of daily life, and their dominance in finding sources from mines and refining many of these energy metals. China continues to be a powerhouse in driving the prices of many #commodities both up and down. Chris also points out that the western nations now need to rapidly play catchup and overhaul many policies to stimulate more domestic supplies or supplies from friendly nations of raw materials like #lithium, #copper, #nickel, #uranium, and #rareearths.
