Rick Van Nieuwenhuyse, President and CEO of Contango Ore (NYSE-A:CTO) joins us to discuss the recent acquisition of HighGold Mining (TSX.V:HIGH - OTCQX:HGMIF) and its Johnson Tract Project in Alaska. The all share deal, announced on May2nd values HighGold at approximately US$37million.
Rick explains how the Johnson Tract Project fits into the Company's strategy of direct ore shipping. This is what the Company is doing at the Mahn Choh Project with Kinross.
We ask about future work and the timeline of advancing the Johnson Tract Project along with the Lucky Shot Project. We also have Rick explain the optionality that direct ore shipping offers the Company when moving into development.
At the end of the interview Rick provides a construction update on the Manh Choh Project and confirms the estimated start of production as early as July.
