The Biggest Problem With Junior Mining, the Story of a Mine Builder, and a Different Copper Porphyry
Gerald Panneton, Craig Parry, and Luc ten Have joined me for this week's Junior Mining Talks.
Luc ten Have, founder of GoldDiscovery, and I talked about private placements, and why they often seem to underperform. According to ten Have's data, more specifically, the average 12-month performance of a private placement with warrants has been negative 23.3 percent over the last 3 years, whereas the median was negative 42%. The private placements that did not include a warrant, are showing a negative 12.2% average 12-month performance, and a negative 28% median. It is worth noting that the last 3 years have been a rather bad market for juniors. So, is this an issue with the Canadian markets, can we blame warrants, or is it just a bad time to be in this market? Luc and I discussed those subjects in-depth.
After my conversation with Luc, I was joined by Gerald Panneton, the CEO of Gold Terra Resources (TSX-V: YGT), a person who has raised $3B and built one of the largest gold mines in Canada. He walked me through his experience as a mine builder, the mistakes, the red flags, the regrets, the hard truths, and the good times.
After Gerald, I was joined by Craig Parry, the CEO of Vizsla Copper (TSX-V: VCU), to get an update on some of the recent assays results they have reported from their copper-gold porphyry exploration projects in British Columbia, Canada.
